Jan - Feb 2009 - PLAYING WITH PLAYMATES
Negotiations are being held with several major networks for the sale of the new tv show 'Playing with Playmates' |
The TV Series pilot produced as a joint venture between Smooth Motion Films USA & Kalypso Interactive was filmed in Ontario, Canada in September 2008 and went though early stages of pitch a major TV network in Europe in December 2008. Series creators & producers A.J. Carter, Kate Separovich and Jayde Nicole will be pushing the 'The Hills' style docu drama in early 2009 as one of their many high end productions to be launched this year.
The series revolves around the girls of the Playboy mansion, particularly Playmate of the Year 2008 Jayde Nicole and the private and not so private aspects of the girls lives. From personal friendships and boyfriend dramas to the glitz and glamour of hating the entertainment industry at your doorstep, the series takes viewers where cameras have never been before, exposing the REAL behind the scenes lives of these celebrities, the parties, the paparazzi and shows us just how Hollywood 'ticks'.
Pilot director A.J. Carter pushed for a more 'eye candy' style of filming, throwing away the typical low budget, shakey camera styles and cheap editing effects inherent in regular reality television and opted for a more controlled finish with plans to use Cinematographers for the finished series instead of just 'cameramen'. "I think the style and exclusiveness of the content in the show warrants a more beautiful and polished feel to the final series than just following the girls around with a few cheap cameras held by monkeys. It's got to look brilliant, just like a high end documentary shot on film. We want the audience to feel the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, not just 'show' it to them" says Carter.
Further negotiations will be held late Feb with the interested networks whilst not foreshadowing the possibility of several major USA based networks interest for the rights to the show.
